What is Biblical Archaeology?

The Holy Bible or the Word of God is the History of Israelites. It is the history of Israel. The Word of God and history of the Israel are inseparable. They are woven together. Israelites in Old Testament were the chosen people of God. The redeemer, the son of God, The word became flesh or Jesus Christ was descendant of Israel born to a Jewish mother, Blessed Virgin Mary.

For thousands of years from Adam to Mother Mary God prepared a people to send His only Son through them to this World. Therefore the history of Israelites and Word of God which made their history possible is woven into one. Any archeological findings of Israel are a finding on the Word of God or the Holy Bible. It is Biblical Archaeology.

Biblical Archaeology can be summarised as Archaeological findings about ancient civilization, Ancient law of different civilizations, findings on ancient Israel, and findings on important people like King David, King Solomon, Abraham, and Noah. Biblical Archaeology also deals with events in history mentioned in the Bible.

What is Biblical Archaeology?

Biblical archaeology is the study, recovery, and scientific investigation of the material remains of past Biblical cultures that can show us or illuminate us the periods and descriptions in the Bible, be they from the Old Testament or New Testament. As the humanity invents and finds numerous ways and means of penetrating into the secrets of the loving God the truth hidden and preserved for so many centuries comes to light through Biblical Archaeology.

Encouraging people to study and do research on the Inspired Word of God St. Paul in his 2nd letter to Timothy says "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth"(2 Timothy 2.15) Biblical archaeology is the study, recovery, and scientific investigation of the material remains of past Biblical cultures that can show us or illuminate us the periods and descriptions in the Bible, be they from the Old Testament or New Testament.
