Jesus Teaches You How to Pray

Jesus explained how simple and easy it is to make contact with God: through prayer.

HOW TO MAKE CONTACT WITH GOD (Matthew 6:5-6)

"When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men." (vs. 5)

"But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." (vs. 6)

"Don't recite the same prayer over and over as the heathen do, who think prayers are answered only by repeating them again and again. Remember, your Father knows exactly what you need before you ask Him!" (vs. 7-8 Living Bible)

WHAT TO SAY WHEN I MAKE CONTACT WITH GOD

"This, then, is how you should pray..."(Matthew 6:9)

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name." (vs. 9)

"Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." (vs. 10)

"Give us today our daily bread." (vs. 11)

HOW TO MAKE CONTACT WITH GOD What Every one Must Say To God

"Forgive us our debts..." (vs. 12a) "sins" Luke 11:4

"... as we also have forgiven our debtors." (vs. 12b)

"For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive yours." (vs. 14-15)

"and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one." (vs. 13)

"OUR Father... give US ... OUR daily bread ... forgive US ... OUR debts ... as WE have forgiven OUR debtors ... lead US not into temptation ... deliver US ..."

Matt. 6:5-15 and Selected

"I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." (Matt. 18:19-20)

Why prayer is So Important

It is medium through which we can contact God. Prayer is a wondeful way of talking to our Creater. As Adam and Eve talked to our loving father. We also can talk to Him. He will be delighted to listen to us, to share His love with us. Our ansestors in the Old Testament and all the saints of the Church had very close contact with Loving God through very intimate prayer. God's Word is a very good mode of pray.

How often do you actually pray during the day.Well if you can pray through out the day and converse with God that is the best prayer.Use the Word of God to pray. Use King David's prayer(Plams) to praise God. To ask pardon from Him for our sins. To thank him for the blessings we have received.

God's Meditation

How can we contact God in this turbulent way of life. We have to be quiet in order to listen. Meditation is best method to contact God. It is the time of quiet listening, and God will come.

From morning till night we live a life as though we are in a hurry. We do not have time to be alone with the loving God. Sometimes, when we have a time to pray we always talk and God has no chance to talk to us. So the prayer is the talking, the demand; and the meditation is the opposite of talking. It is listening. Most people just keep praying all the time or always make noise or always talk, and God has no chance to tell them what to do. No wonder their prayers are unanswered. God has no opportunity. So learn to listen to our Loving God.

So the meditation is a must from a logical standpoint, whether you are a Buddhist,a Christian,a Muslim or whatever. If you cannot make time to listen to God, then God can never be communicated with. Even if you talk to a friend - you telephone, you talk and then you must listen. Even if you ask anything from a friend, you must first ask, and then you must be quiet so he or she has a chance to talk with you. How can we treat God even worse than a friend? We keep on talking to God all the time, and without giving Him a chance. Meditation is the time of quiet listening. That's all there is, and God will come.

So learn the art of listening to God like the way Samuel didthen God will talk to you as He did to Samuel.

How to Speak to God

It is going to be a great experience if you can listen quietly to our loving God. He knows who we are. He knows what we want. Don't trouble Him by asking without end. He will give what is best for us at the correct time. Because he is Omnipotence and He is Alpha and Omega. By perfecting the art of listening you will encounter God.

Contact God via the Living Enlightened Master

Who is the master for Christians? He is Jesus. Who is the master for Muslims? He is Prophet Mohammed. Who is the master for Buddhists? He is Lord Buddha So contact God via a Living Enlightened Master, as mentioned above. Throughout the ages, mankind has been visited by those rare individuals whose sole purpose is the spiritual upliftment of humanity.. These three are well known to us, but there are many others whose names we do not know; some taught publicly, and who were known by a few, and others remained anonymous. These individuals were called by different names, at different times, in different countries. They came to offer us what has been called: Enlightenment, Salvation, Realization, Liberation, or Awakening. The words used may be different, but in essence they all mean the same thing.

Our Enlighten Master is Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Conceived by the Holy Spirit through Virgin Mary our blessed Mother. Lived with humanity and loved all. He suffered and died on the cross and was buried. Then on the third day he rose up from the dead and again lived with humanity before ascending to heaven. He is our savior. What more is required? He died for us and rose up again. Jesus is our Enlighten Master. We contact God through our Master Jesus Christ. Just follow his words in the Holy Bible. Just listen to him during the meditation. Receive him through Holy Communion and listen to Him. Visit Blessed Sacrament and quietly wait till He talks to you. He is real in the Blessed Sacrament. He waits till someone visits Him. When you suddenly wake up in the night sit on your bed and listen to him as Samuel did to God the Father. That would be a very intimate meditation and you will really be alone with Our Master as he was with His God the Father in the Garden of Gethsamani.

What are common prayers.

Praying the Holy Rosary, really deepens the prayer life. When praying the Holy Rosary, contemplate the mysteries which God revealed to us,through His Son, Jesus Christ.

There are many great prayers in the Bible. The Book of Psalms, is a whole book on prayers.

Pray in the church, especially before the Blessed Sacrament, as He is literally present, the Holy Eucharist. As explained above, just keep silent in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Lord Jesus will definitely talk to you.

Just visualize how much you love your wife or a child or your mother for that matter. Do you have a deep love like that for your Heavenly Father? Do you love Him above all these people or beyond all things? Well if you want to pray faithfully to Him, but, do not know how to address him. It is not as hard as it may seem. Just say Lord or Dear Father and keep silent until He addresses you..

The Holy Church has given the Divine Office as a great daily prayer.to all the members of the church specially to the clergy. The divine office is,indeed a complete prayer of Liturgy of the Hours, form of a family of books. All those who use this prayer book whether priest, religious or laity eill always be able to have a sublime prayers to loving God. These prayers are mostly from the Holy Bible.
